Abstract

This session will provide a quick overview of current trends and initiatives in open education in Scotland. This includes a quick tour of: policy and practice; emerging sectors and approaches; groups like Open Scotland and those linked to OpenKnowledgeFoundation; and an update on a new three year Scottish Government funded education wide partnership being steered by the Open University in Scotland, Edinburgh , Glasgow, Strathclyde and The University of the Highlands and Islands.

Most of all the session is a chance to meet like minded people and talk about what it might mean to open up education in Scotland. We would like to invite both Scottish representatives and those with a broader interest in OER policy and practice to come along and help shape the debate.
